Spain AI governance bill (Organic Law on the good use and governance of AI)
A government bill that adapts the EU AI Act to Spanish law. It names the supervisory bodies (mainly the AI supervision agency AESIA, plus the data protection agency AEPD and the judiciary's council CGPJ), sets the sanctions regime, imposes human oversight where fundamental rights may be affected, adds measures to protect minors and promotes AI use in the state public sector.

What this means for you
If you build AI
- If passed, AESIA would supervise most high-risk AI outside product law (employment, biometrics, education) and run Spain's national AI sandbox.
If you deploy AI
- The bill would require human oversight where AI may affect fundamental rights, and would set Spain's sanctions for AI Act breaches.
- It is still a bill: nothing in it applies until Congress and the Senate pass it and it is published in the BOE.
If you use AI
- The bill includes specific measures to protect minors and a complaints route to a market surveillance authority.
