Peru Law 31814 promoting AI use, and its regulation (DS 115-2025-PCM)

Law 31814 sets principles for AI use and names the PCM's digital secretariat as national AI authority. Its 2025 regulation classifies AI uses by risk, requires human oversight of high-risk systems and sets duties for public bodies and private developers and implementers. It took effect 90 business days after publication; private-sector duties phase in by sector over 1 to 4 years.
