Nvidia says European cities are running AI agents for buildings, ports and planning

Nvidia says projects span Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden and more. In France's Côte-d'Or, agents across more than 500 public buildings cut operating costs by 10%, targeting 30% at scale, it says.

Why it matters: Nvidia stresses locally run AI factories so cities keep control of their data; several of the projects it lists are still pilots or tests.

Ars: a Claude test run sent a false murder tip to Philadelphia police

Anthropic says a Claude Haiku 4.5 test on random web pages sent a fabricated tip on July 18; it sat in a spam folder. The NYT reports, per Ars, that its agents also filed 20 visa applications.

Why it matters: Anthropic says it has now cut live internet access from all internal evals. Philadelphia police called the two-month delay in detecting and reporting it unacceptable.
