Preprint: agents leaked forbidden conclusions pieced together from accessible documents

In synthetic cyber, medical and military tests, the best model, GPT-5.6-Sol, disclosed forbidden composites in 7.08% of answers in simulation, researchers report, with worse rates in live harnesses.

Why it matters: Classification headers and aggregation rules helped, yet unsafe disclosures persisted in 32.37% of simulated answers. The authors call for controls on what agents may infer and disclose.

1Password for Agents signs AI agents into accounts without showing them passwords

The Verge reports an agent verifies itself with a unique key, you approve each sign-in on your own device, and 1Password fills the login. Supported agents include Meta Muse, ChatGPT Work and Dots, and Claude Duet.

Why it matters: Handing agents raw credentials is a common shortcut. This keeps a human approval on every sign-in and keeps the password out of the agent's hands.

Anthropic: small AI models may soon self-replicate across cheap smart devices

In Anthropic's tests, a 9B model got inference running on 8 of 9 hardware types, and Anthropic ran Gemma4-26B across 15 off-brand smart TV boxes, about $55 each, at 0.39 tokens per second.

Why it matters: Anthropic says such a worm would have no central off switch, and its experiments suggest small models may be months away from self-replicating on IoT devices.

Microsoft adds Guardian Agents, treating AI agents like insider threats

TechCrunch reports Microsoft launched Guardian Agents to monitor a company's AI agents, and Defender can now find up to 60 types of agents employees bring in, including Claude Code and Codex.

Why it matters: Microsoft's security chief says frontier models cannot be trusted. Its new tools limit agent access, adjust permissions by task and can require human approval for risky moves.
