Claude's Personal Finance beta reads bank data through Plaid, read-only

The Verge reports Claude can now see balances and up to two years of transactions via Plaid for US Pro, Max and Ultra users in beta. Anthropic says it can't move money and isn't built to give investment advice.

Why it matters: Consumer agents are reaching bank data with read-only access first. If you build finance agents, expect users to compare your permissions with this baseline.
