Airbnb says its own AI travel agent launches in the first half of 2027

In its Q3 letter, Airbnb says the agent will compose a travel interface from maps, photos and calendars rather than chat, and handle trip changes, payment issues and refunds. Q3 revenue grew 19% to $4.87 billion.

Why it matters: Airbnb is betting general agents can't handle in-trip service without platform access. If you sell through agents, test which tasks an outside agent can actually finish.
